Point Vicente Interpretive Center & Nature Preserve

Ever wanted to watch the whales migrate? Without getting on a boat? You can do that at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center in Rancho Palos Verdes, right on the Pacific Ocean. It’s a center that’s dedicated to present and interpret the unique features and history of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

One of the highlights is a proscenium, which faces the ocean, for you to observe the California Gray Whale during its annual migration, December through April.

But if you’re in California any other month of the year, then take a stroll through the adjacent nature preserve, which has a path along the ocean cliffs with fantastic views of the ocean on one side, and native plants on the other. You’ll have a view like no other!

Point Vicente Interpretive Center is located at 31501 Palos Verdes Drive West in Rancho Palos Verdes. You can visit their website here: https://www.rpvca.gov/1204/Visit-Point-Vicente-Interpretive-Center
