Holiday Train in Griffith Park

The annual Holiday Light Festival Train Ride in Griffith Park is back!

The train ride started the day after Thanksgiving, but if you haven’t been able to get there yet, no worries.  They will be running the train through January 6th.

The Griffith Park & Southern RR trains run year-round.  But it’s especially fun during the holidays.

This 10 minute ride has been transformed into a lighted wonderland with tunnels, a candy-cane welcome line, Santa, reindeer, and a multitude of other lighted scenes to delight your inner child.

Next to the train station are 3 holiday scenes for you to take memorable selfies and family photos to remember your holiday at Griffith Park.

The ride is just $7.00 per adult, and you can get the tickets online at:
https://www.griffithparktrainrides.com/holiday-light-festival/

You can also purchase the tickets at the railroad, but tickets tend to sell out fast, so to ensure you can ride the train, it’s best to purchase online.

This is an extremely popular event.  Even if you have a ticket for a certain time, plan to come about an hour early to get in line.

And don’t forget, even though Griffith Park is in sunny Southern California, it’s winter here, too. Nighttime temps are in the high 40’s/low 50’s. So dress warmly!

If you can’t get to Griffith Park for the holidays, or you’re not crazy about standing in line for an hour or so, or you just don’t like the cold, not to worry!  I went Thanksgiving weekend, so you can enjoy my experience!
