VIDEO: Tail O’ The Pup is Back in LA

The Dog Days of Summer brought a present to Los Angeles:  Tail O’ The Pup!

Okay, it was actually the 1933 Group, the hospitality group that finds and restores landmarks from LA’s past.  They keep the historical aesthetic, while modernizing the menu for a contemporary patron.

Dog Days, 1933 Group – who cares?  LA is happy to welcome Tail O’ The Pup back, after nearly 2 decades in storage.

It was the dream of world-famous ballroom dancers, Veloz and Yolanda Casazza, to own a restaurant.  They hired streamline moderne architect, Milton Black, to design their restaurant in 1939.  Tail O’ The Pup was the result.

But WWII broke out, so they postponed the restaurant’s opening.  The war ended in 1945, and Tail O’ The Pup opened in 1946.

The video takes you through the Pup’s history, how important it is in LA, and it’s reincarnation in West Hollywood.
