In-n-Out Burger with a Free Air Show

If you’re visiting Los Angeles, then one of your dining destinations should be the In-n-Out Burger.  It’s a staple of SoCal Burger places!

There are a lot of them in Los Angeles — in fact, it’s a regional chain now — but definitely check out the In-n-Out Burger at LAX.

“Why this one?” you might ask.  “Are the burgers better?”

Nope.

The quality of the food is consistent across all In-n-Out Burgers.

A In-n-Out Cheeseburger — Yum!!

So what makes this one special?

It’s next to one of LAX’s landing runways. You see a free airshow of the planes coming in!

Delta’s landing.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of the planes coming in.

It’s so close!

And don’t forget the burgers!  In-n-Out is delicious!

The #2, no onions.

For years, I saw cars lined up at any In-n-Out and wondered why they were willing to wait so long for a burger. I just made no sense to me.

Until I had their burger.

The line waiting to order at In-n-Out

First, they’re delicious. As I said earlier, their food is consistent at every In-n-Out that I’ve been to (and by this time, I’ve been to soooooo many!).

But it’s also the freshness of the ingredients.

You can watch them take a whole potato, put it in a device that cuts it into strips, then toss those potatoes strips into a fryer, where they become french fries.

In-n-Out’s fries are fried in 100% trans-fat free, cholesterol-free vegetable oil. They’re both lower in calories & sodium than most other fast-food french fries. But you don’t eat french fries because they’re lower in sodium and calories, you eat them because they taste good. And In-n-Out fries are GOOOOOOOD!!!!

I also love that they have stayed true to their business. They have a hamburger, cheese burger, double-double burger, fries, shakes & sodas.

That’s it.

The In-n-Out Menu

They don’t have breakfast sandwiches. They don’t have salads, fish sandwiches, chicken nuggets/strips, tortillas or anything other than their core business of burgers, shakes & fries.

And, while it may seem like a small thing, their presentation is also consistent. Your food will be in a square box, the burger on one side, the fries on the other, with a napkin draped over the fries, and another draped over the edge of the box.

The presentation is always consistent

So if you come to Southern California, and you want the ultimate California burger dining experience, stop by an In-n-Out burger.

And if you’re near LAX, enjoy the air show while you eat.
